In the sixth episode of Out of Darkness, the aftermath of the social integration movement is discussed within the context of its long-term effects on the African-American community, both economically and sociologically. The loss of an independent spirit, along with the forfeiture and disintegration of the many black-owned industries, businesses, and institutions within the African-American community as a result of social integration is examined in detail.

Illusion of Inclusion also breaks down the socialization process of the African-American child by the public education system, and its tendency to educate African-Americans to work against the interests of their own communities. Historically Black Colleges and Universities are also examined in their effectiveness in socializing African-American graduates into being functional members of the African-American community, specifically as it relates to the concept of “group economics.”
