Out of Darkness: Ep.2 - Nile Valley Civilization

Out of Darkness: Ep.2 - Nile Valley Civilization

In the second episode of Out of Darkness, the African (Kushitic) origins of Nile Valley Civilization are discussed in detail, placing Ancient Egypt within the context of Nile Valley culture and civilization with its origins in the south. The contributions of Nile Valley Civilization are further discussed in detail, explaining Ancient Egypt (Kemet) as the birthplace of the world’s first writing system, the world’s first calendar and the concept of time, engineering and architecture, concepts of astrology, and many other sciences that are paramount to a civilized society.

The etymology of the word “Egypt” is also broken down, as a Greek corruption of the name “Hikuptah” (Memphis) which was the nation’s capital city during the time. The episode then begins to break down the southern origins of Nile Valley Civilization as rooted in the land of Ancient Kush (modern day Sudan), as the Kushitic/Nubian origins of the pharaonic system is further explained as coming from the south (Kush/Nubia) as part of the cultural continuity of Africa.

Out of Darkness is narrated by Prof. Kaba Kamene and co-stars Dr. Umar Johnson, Dr. Claud Anderson, Tim Wise, Prof. James Small, Dr. Joy DeGruy, Anthony Browder, Sabir Bey, Atlantis Browder, and Taj Tarik Bey.
